Over the past three weeks I’ve been out in the beautiful Norfolk countryside photographing barns soon to be sold with Barnmasters, Norwich. Some are newly refurbished, some ready for conversion just waiting to welcome a loving family and others awaiting new owners as the current ones need to move on. Joanne & Karl at Stower Grange – Wedding Photography Norfolk

Wind and rain couldn’t tarnish the smiles this couple exchanged throughout their wedding day! Joanne was one of the most relaxed brides I’ve encountered, and husband Karl one of the most attentive of grooms. We had our work cut out dodging the ever-present showers, and the wedding party rose to the occassion by being photographed in drizzle to enable Jo and Karl to get a large group shot outside Stower Grange… even the gorgeous little flower-girl didn’t cause a fuss, in what seemed like sub-zero temperatures due to the wind-chill factor. It was an honour to share your day Jo and Karl!

If you’re wondering what this little lady is looking at… it’s her daddy, holding her baby sister, sitting in the pew just out of shot to the left of this picture…ah!

A huge thank you to all you lovely people out there who are regularly viewing and commenting on my blog… today we reached 8000 views. Woo hoo! Do keep viewing and sharing, without YOU we wouldn’t be where we are today.

I thought I’d share an old family photograph. If it wasn’t for the lady standing fourth from the left (my mum), I wouldn’t be here today to photograph you and your families. Thank you for your continued business and support, in what has been for many, difficult times. Have a wonderful day… I’m off to photograph another beautiful barn for Barnmasters and then some ‘me time’… lunch with a good friend.

This image was taken the first Christmas after the end of WWII by a national newspaper and made the front page. The headline read: ‘All fifteen survived’.

Judging at Caister Digital and Photographic Club

Last evening I had the pleasure of being invited back to CDPC to judge their open competition. The first half comprised 27 prints, followed by 49 digital images… so I had my work cut out. It’s always good to see others work and especially nice to see such a young club thriving, and its members growing in skill and confidence. Well done on those EAF acceptances Caister, and many thanks for being so warm and welcoming.

The Brilliant Ms Baker – Portrait Photography Norfolk

Dodging showers was a skill developed by both Ms Baker and myself on this photoshoot. Our original location was abandoned in favour of the warmth and comfort that ‘indoors’ could offer. That said, the showers decided to break, so we made the most of the watery sun that peeped through the ever-present storm clouds, and ventured out into the heart of Norwich. The brief was to capture not just a likeness, but personality too… I hope you like some of the natural shots captured.

Jade glided elegantly around St Giles House Hotel (wearing heels I could only hope to stand still in,whilst holding onto someone else for support!). The rustle of satin and lace, the sparkle of silver-sequined shoes, a diaphanous veil peeping from a mass of tumbling curls, set with a flower-fashioned diamante tiara – oh, I do love my job! Hope you like some of the pictures.

One of ’the’ best things about this job is getting to work with lovely people in fantastic locations. The shoot at St Giles House Hotel came very near to being one of my best hotel experiences to date.

Duty Manager, Jenna Richards very kindly gave us the Walnut Lounge for Kathy from Kiss Curls Salon (and her team), Norwich to create not one, but two stunning styles for our award-winning model Jade Priestley. The fabulous red evening gown was provided by Perfect Dress Hire of Chedgrave.

St Giles House is a luxurious 4-star boutique hotel hidden in the very heart of the city of Norwich. Individually designed rooms complement this beautifully-restored Baroque building… we were spoilt for choice with regards locations to photograph.

Hollie Gee Rocks Hollywood Glamour

Having spent a couple of days in Chester, on another journey of self-improvement with the marvellous Mr McGillicuddy (and team), I’ve returned inspired! Modelling at this MMoS session was the gorgeous Miss Gee – there’s something about this young lady that harks back to the days of Hollywood glamour. I feel she’s a contemporary take on Elizabeth Taylor and Vivien Leigh all rolled into one.
